Below a selection of hairwing patterns that my participants tied and love to tie during my fly tying classes in Atlantic Canada since 1999. Most people love to tie with salmon hooks that have an up eye but privately and for my own fishing I tie all my salmon flies exclusively with down eyes. I highly prefer down eye hooks for my own fishing, my special knots and different fishing techniques. I think it is good that people have different wishes and using different techniques to tempt their Atlantic salmon. I put this list online for those who love to seek among patterns that can be useful for the rivers that they like to fish in Atlantic Canada. With  quite a lot of the patterns below participants of my workshops caught their first ever Atlantic salmon.
